20. Fuel System

4/12/08 - Rick's Sumped Stainless Fuel Tank is in.  I also mounted the fuel pump from a home made bracket that hangs between the front of the tan and the rear axle.  I have started to plumb the fuel line by drilling and tapping the frame for line clamps.

6/23/08 - After a 6-week distraction of messing with the '68, I am back to working on WickedBird.  I have continued plumbing the fuel line using the billet line clamps down the underside of the body seam.  I actually ran out of clamps and have ordered more from Godman High Performance.  Once I get the line plumbed I will post some pics.

7/3/08 - Continued plumbing the fuel line to the firewall.  Also pulled the heater core and cover as I will replace the cover and core with a Camaro Big Block setup to push the heater hoses out away from the engine.

7/5/08 - After getting feedback on the location of the fuel line (along the bottom of the body pinch weld seam), I decided to flip the clamps to push the line up and behind the body seam to protect it.

8/24/08 - Finally finished the fuel line by running it up underneath the firewall heater box cover and into the fuel log from the back of the motor (for a cleaner look).  The fuel line is now fully installed from tank to carb.

6/15/09 - Scratch the above.  I ended up ditching the electric fuel pump now that a good aftermarket mechanical pump is available from RobbMc: http://www.robbmcperformance.com/products/pontiac550.html.  This means I had to re-route the lines in the engine bay.  See pics below for updates.
