12/17/06: Started tearing down the Ford 9" rearend.  Removed brakes and axles and it turns out that the axles are only 28 spline and my center section 31 spline, so I will be getting new 31 spline axles.  Not sure which brand yet.  I also cut and ground the existing leaf spring pads that were on the rearend as they were not in the correct location for a 1st Gen.  I have new Detriot Speed and Engineering pads that will be mounted to the rearend and welded.

12/23/06: Ground down the rearend to bare metal. It is now ready for POR15 or powdercoating (not sure which one yet) once the spring pads are welded on.  I also order my 31-spline axles from Moser.  They should be here next week.  I ordered there complete axle kit with bearings and setup for e-brake and disk brakes.
